Hi, nice to see you here. Well if you love mayo you’ll be happy in West Africa! Good luck on your travels. Even if you don’t fancy doing the whole Africa thing I can recommend getting on a ferry to Morocco and exploring there for a bit. Stunning.

As always, a fabulous post! Worth the RSI 😉 The wedding looked fabulous, but the drone shots really showed the magnificence of the waterfalls and the landscape 😳 Well done to you both, stay safe. Love from us both, P&Tx

I'm so glad you're taking your time. So many rush this trip. Beautiful stories and of course the photo's. Shame no smellavision😁.

Paula Dear's avatar

Haha! You really don’t want the smellavision function around Conakry.

Yes we agree - we don’t think we would have enjoyed the stress of all the visa deadlines and rushing to get to southern Africa before this rainy season.

Thanks for the update! I savoured this one while drinking my morning coffee (and wondering why we didn’t buy mayo yesterday…).

Really appreciate all the behind the scenes intel (and what amazing scenes!). It is so humbling to realise afresh how much we take for granted.

Amazing pictures- share your frustration about access to solar power. And was frequently amazed on

my travels by overloaded vehicles but you are going for a record here. Hope you both well - watch the mayonnaise!😳

What an adventure and, as usual, amazing photos. I particularly liked the videos in this latest offering: the joy and vibrancy of the hen party was incredible. How lucky you were to come across it! (Love the mayo story too). Stay well and please keep shining some light on what's becoming a murkier world almost by the hour

So it’s mandatory to get the visa sticker from Conakry so that you can exit the country?

Paula Dear's avatar

Hi Piritta. It’s difficult to get a straight answer on this but apparently this is the rule according to the Ministry of Tourism. I know some people have definitely taken the chance and gone to the border without it, and got through. I think it can also depend what border you use. We decided to have a day of hassle to get it, rather than risk being sent back or fined. It’s definitely worth doing a current check on FB or other groups. Patrick Madeleine usually has good info. https://www.foutadecouverte.com/2024/03/visa-pour-la-guinee-infos-pratiques.html

We were on a Telegram group for West Africa but our phone numbers have stopped working on it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you, Paula! We’ll try to check👍 But I think that we’ll probably take it ”for sure” as well and just go and get the sticker. Would hate to drive back and forth if sent back from the border…
